Public Health Update: December 9, 2020

SAN LUIS VALLEY - Costilla County will move to Level Red on the COVID-19 Dial at 5pm today, December 9, 2020. When a county moves from one level to another, the decision is made by the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment, based on critical COVID-19 measures in the community, and in discussion with local public health agencies and their Boards of Health.

Our San Luis Valley Environmental Health Specialists do not make Dial decisions, but they have been assisting restaurants and other entities they serve with making adjustments and getting information when changes are made from one level to another.

Governor Polis signed SB20B-001 this week. The bill provides some financial relief for small businesses, minority-owned businesses, and art and cultural organizations in jurisdictions that are under severe restrictions due to COVID-19. More information about qualifications and access will be available very soon as processes are finalized. One place to watch for updates is https://choosecolorado.com/covid19/

For all testing events: Wear a mask, and please do not eat, drink, smoke, or use toothpaste or mouthwash for 30 minutes prior to testing. Advance registration is recommended but not required.
