High School Knowledge Bowl had their last competition today and finished off strong. At the last meet, upcoming 9th graders were invited to attend, and the seniors were the Readers. Great season, Knowledge Bowlers!

For this week's mindful Thursday activity with the 8th Grade Seminar class, we went outside with some chalk and created mandalas!
Creating mandalas helps with:
Focus and Attention
- Drawing or coloring a mandala requires sustained concentration, which strengthens your ability to stay present and focused on one task!
Stress Reduction
- The repetitive, structured patterns in mandalas can induce a meditative state, calming the nervous system and reducing anxiety.
Self-Awareness
- Mandala creation often becomes a reflection of your inner world. As you choose colors, shapes, and symmetry, you may become more attuned to your emotions and thoughts.
Non-Judgmental Observation
- Engaging in a creative process without worrying about the outcome encourages acceptance and letting go of perfectionism—a major mindfulness principle.
Grounding
- The act of engaging with a physical medium (pen, pencil, markers) and focusing on geometry and patterns helps ground you in the present moment.
Emotional Expression
- Mandalas can serve as a safe outlet for expressing emotions visually, which supports emotional regulation and mindfulness of feelings.
The rain then washed it all away!
Grab some chalk and see what beautiful mandala's you can create with your families!

Track Update:
The Centennial Middle School track team was SO EXCITED to see this massive load of sand delivered today for the new long jump pit!! They are looking forward to being able to jump into sand instead of practicing those jumps on the track.
Yesterday, Mariah Portillo of the high school track team competed in Center and placed 7th in her shotput!
Our middle school team performed incredibly well at their meet at Sangre de Cristo. Rowan Hubbard ranked 8th out of 77 in long jump, a personal best. The team will be competing at Centauri this Friday.
Way to go Running Rams, we are so proud of you!
